Electric Pet Collar Guide

"A collar won't be any good unless you know how to use it."

A common misconception about electric pet collars is that they are painful. The static corrective signal sent to the collar is actually harmless and therefore humane. The animal may be surprise initially as it won’t be anticipated and it is designed to get the pet's immediate attention. The stimulus administered is usually no more than a nuisance to the pet after they learn to expect it and soon associate it with bad behavior. To ease pet owners and trainers of their doubts and worries in using an electric pet collar, we have a useful and reliable pet collar guide.

The first generation of electric pet collars was limited in their abilities, but our manufacturers have worked to refine their electronic training equipment with a variation of multiple stimulation levels from the hand-held remote transmitter. The one doing the training can now select from one of the three intensity levels for a particular correction: high, medium, and low. The benefits of working with a remote is that the trainer can instantly send a signal to the collar when the pet is displaying unwanted or undesirable behavior, and this can be done at a distance far greater than leash training would allow. With our reliable pet collar guide, you can better understand the functionalities of this product.

Remote Electric Pet Collar Features:

· Multiple Stimulation Levels

A remote hand-held transmitter must have the flexibility to match the stimulation level to your pet's size and temperament. The stimulation intensity levels must also be appropriate to the size of your furry friend. Larger animals need a higher stimulation to get their attention and obey orders. If the collar's pulse correction is too weak, the pet may not respond. Many of the electric pet collars we carry now clearly indicate what size pet the training collar is intended for.

As you may have noticed, there are two forms of stimulation available on the market today. The first is a continuous stimulation, which delivers an electronic pulse to the pet as long as the button is being pressed from the hand-held remote transmitter. The second form is the momentary stimulation that is sometimes called a "nick". This sensation is very brief, but it is instant and still effective for getting the pet's attention. There is also an auto shutoff feature available on some remote transmitters.

· Range

The effective range of an electric pet collar can vary according to terrain, environment, and line of sight conditions. If you are training your pet in a field, it is recommended to have a long range training collar so that the transmitter can still produce a reliable and strong signal. Generally speaking, the more range, the better. However, if you are only using this device for basic yardwork obedience training, the 150 to 300 yard range is more than enough.

· Handheld Transmitter Design

The transmitter should be small enough to carry in your pocket for convenience. Our manufacturers make transmitters that are small and lightweight. However, trainers might have their own personal preferences. Some handheld transmitters are waterproof, water resistant, and rugged punishment tested for durability.

· Integrated Collar Design

A remote electric pet collar should have intelligent engineering with an internal antenna to avoid being caught up from the pet's body. And of course, a waterproof collar is highly recommended if you intend to train your furry companion in or around the water.
